This subject is considering the paradox of sovereign immunity under the Vienna convention on diplomatic relations 1961 and 1969; paper explore that how the influential personalities who have sovereign immunity like presidents, prime ministers and other government officials they illegally use their immunity for their personal benefits and protect themselves using that immunity. They employ their political power to achieve their personal interests and for the luxury of their families.
This paper seeks to explore whether sovereign or diplomatic immunity is obtainable to government officials when they commit and be charged with the most real crimes of concern to the international community as a whole. It provide seek to review the effectiveness of the Rome Statute for an International Criminal Court, and review the most prominent criminal cases involving defensive measure pleas which rely on State or diplomatic immunity. Finally, it will seek to consider the effectiveness of whether accredited categories of individuals are exempt from prosecution in both national and international jurisdictions.
