The Dress is written by Julia Darling in 2006. The textual matter is about a woman and her twain girls; Rachel and Flora. The atmosphere in the text is very cold surrounded by the two sisters, and the mother is a little absent, but sometimes she also turns op for the discussions between her daughters.




The mother is a affliction counsellor, she has two daughters, and she is possibly disunite from her husband, since they dont live together; Rachel wants to leave home, she calls her father, and asked if she could suffer with him. At her fortieth birthday she was wearing a caustic dress and bright red earrings, which gives us an idea that she is a neat woman and in addition, she has black hair. At her birthday, she wants to relax, and wants to odour loved. She feels that she is old, and she thinks that she may leave her job as a bereavement counsellor, in order to do something with jewels instead. Sometimes she sounds like a teacher, when she talks with her daughters; harsh and unforgiving.
